Overview

Item Vacuum handles one very specific but very useful problem: item restriction zones. It can confiscate banned items inside controlled spaces, store them by key, and later return them through explicit return logic.

That makes it a strong fit for dungeons, restricted areas, progression gates, or world spaces where carrying certain item categories should have consequences.

Guide

Item Vacuum purpose banner

Purpose

Control what players can bring into a space

Item Vacuum is for servers that want item rules enforced by the world itself, not only by a sign or a warning message.

The plugin creates beacon-centered confiscation or return zones with stored item buckets, configurable countdown behavior, and zone-specific FX.

That makes it useful for dungeons, staging areas, special events, or any content lane where entering with the wrong items should trigger a real system.

Overview

  • Beacon-centered CONFISCATE and RETURN zones.
  • Stored-items buckets linked by storage key.
  • Messages, countdowns, and FX profiles that explain what is happening to players.

First Boot

Create one zone and test one storage key end to end

The first milestone is to prove the zone, the confiscation path, and the return path before you build a whole restricted-area network.

The plugin already ships with full admin commands and a minimal GUI through /iv gui. Start with one zone, one storage key, and one banned item category so the basic loop is easy to validate.

/iv createsphere ...
/iv movecenter ...
/iv setradius ...
/iv confiscate <storageKey> [player]
/iv gui

Once that first loop works, the bigger zone network is much easier to grow with confidence.

First boot

  • The zone detects players and applies the right state.
  • Confiscated items land in the expected storage bucket.
  • Return flow and player-side messages are already understandable.

Standout Features

The good part is how explicit the admin tools already is

Zones, storage keys, FX profiles, countdown behavior, and drop-blocking rules are already part of the product instead of hidden implementation details.

The plugin supports immediate confiscation for zero-countdown setups, configurable titles and subtitles, per-profile particle and sound choices, and drop blocking inside CONFISCATE zones so players cannot bypass the mechanic by simply throwing items away.

That makes the system much more credible in live content. The restriction is enforced, communicated, and reversible in a clear way.

Why the design already looks solid

  • The system is designed around real zone behavior instead of one-off commands.
  • Player messaging and FX help the mechanic feel intentional instead of arbitrary.
  • Storage keys keep confiscation and return logic organized.

Showcase

Show the zone, the confiscation moment, and the return lane

Item Vacuum makes the most sense when the page shows the whole restriction loop, not only the command surface.

Use the gallery to show one visible zone, one confiscation example, and one return or storage result that proves the system is fair and readable.

That helps the plugin feel like a deliberate part of gameplay rather than a hidden punishment system.

Gallery

  • The zone is readable to players.
  • The confiscation step is enforced and understandable.
  • Return flow makes the system feel controlled rather than destructive.
