Item Forge Wiki

Custom item editing, profile automation, smart scaling, batch workflows, and admin-friendly generation docs for Item Forge.

Getting Started

Start here for install, first boot, and the three main editing lanes.

Naming and Templates

Get display name, item name, lore, placeholders, and prefix behavior right before you mass-generate items.

Profiles and Automation

Build reusable modifier workflows, scale item math, and generate outputs from the Give menu.

Item Editing Systems

Trim, dye, attribute, hide, model, and tag items without dropping into raw NBT tooling.

Operations and Support

Teach admins the command surface, the built-in help surfaces, and the troubleshooting path for common item issues.

Help Guides, Placeholder Browser, and Admin Onboarding

Use the built-in help tabs, guided chat prompts, and placeholder browser to onboard admins faster.

Item Forge has a built-in help layer because the plugin covers enough systems that admins should not have to memorize everything.

The Help and Guide surface

The Help GUI is organized into topic tabs so admins can jump into:

  • start and workflow guidance
  • display and placeholder help
  • coloration help
  • profile help
  • scaling help
  • flags help
  • command help

Clickable guided walkthroughs

Help entries are not passive text only.

The help system can:

  • open step-by-step chat guidance
  • send copy-ready template examples
  • send copy-ready command formats
  • ask for a simple confirmation before returning to the GUI

Profile Help

Profiles also expose a dedicated help overlay for the profile-creation flow.

Use it when you need quick reminders for:

  • prefix behavior
  • placeholder usage
  • smart scaling entry points
  • template editing workflow
  • profile display item behavior

Placeholder browser

The Placeholder browser lets admins:

  • preview available tokens
  • click a token into chat
  • create a display template
  • create an item-name template
  • append a lore template line

Chat input behavior

Item Forge uses chat input for text-entry prompts.

Current runtime behavior includes:

  • prompt timeout after the configured number of seconds
  • cancel words such as cancel, stop, and exit
  • reopen-to-menu behavior after input or cancel
